Be gentle with me, it’s my first time…

This is scary stuff!! Baring your soul to the world can be nerve racking. I am self-publishing the first book, of my first book series, and the butterflies in my tummy feel more like bats!

You spend months, sometimes years developing characters you love and stories lines that inspire you to get up and write each morning. You toss them out into, a sometimes cold and cruel world, waiting for people to react, hoping they will get just one glimpse of what you saw when you opened your heart and let it spill out onto the page.

I am inspired by these words…“A writer is a person who cares what words mean, what they say, how they say it. Writers know words are their way towards truth and freedom, and so they use them with care, with thought, with fear, with delight. By using words well they strengthen their souls. Story-tellers and poets spend their lives learning that skill and art of using words well. And their words make the souls of their readers stronger, brighter, deeper.”

Ursula K. Le Guin

I know that it is impossible for my stories to affect everyone, but if I can touch the soul of just one reader and inspire them to be better, reach higher, or follow their dream, than I have done my job as a writer.
